Reader Response 2: Huck Finn (7 - 13)
Huck has been influenced by many people in many different ways. He has been influenced by Tom Sawyer in some bad ways. Bad ways Huck has been influenced by Tom are. That whatever Tom says Huck just goes along with it. Like when Tom said “Shucks, it ain’t no use talking to you, Huck Finn. You don’t seem to know anything, somehow- perfect snap-head.” (Chap.3, Pg.11, Par. 4) That would make Huck feel like he is stupid the way Tom talks to him
Also Huck is influenced by the Widow Douglas. He is influenced by her in many different ways most of them good. Like how the Widow took him in and treated him like he was her own son. She also gives him good advice, like when she told him that smoking was “a mean practice and wasn’t clean, and you mustn’t do it anymore”. (Chap.1, Pg. 2, Par. 3) Even though Huck doesn’t mind her advice it is still great advice. And he really should start listening.
Another person Huck is influenced by is Pap . Husk is influenced in many bad ways from Pap. In one way Pap told Huck he couldn’t go to school anymore. Pap said “And looky here- you drop that school, ya hear?” (Chap. 5, Pg.15, 2nd Para.) Since Pap was Huck’s father he had to mind his father.
The last person Huck is influenced by is Jim. Jim influences Huck in good ways.
Jim is also a good friend to Huck. Jim once said, “Huck; you’s de bes’ fren’ Jim’s ever had.” This comment made Huck feel really bad because he was about to go tell on Jim for escaping, but that made him change his mind. This comment also taught Huck how to be a better friend to people.

Huck Finn Reader Response 1 (1-6)
Huck Finn Reader Response 1: (1-6)
Parental Relations
My quote came from when pap came home and tried to get Huck’s money and the judge wouldn’t give it to him. “Next day he was drunk, and he went to Judge Thatcher’s and bullyragged him and tried to make him give up the money, but he couldn’t, and then he swore he’d make the law force him.”
(Chapter 5, Page 16, Paragraph 3)
I think what is being said is stupid. Its Huck’s money and pap has no right to try and take it, and the fact that he said that he would get the law to get the judge to give him the money. This relates to my life because I’ve read book about things like this. I really feel that it is wrong for a parent to try and take a child’s money and using it for only themselves and not for the child in the first place. Huck should be able to decide what he wants to do with his money.
I think Mark Twain would say the same thing I do. Pap should not be trying to force the Judge to give him Huck’s money just because he is Huck’s father. This relates to his life because it basically is his life. Mark Twain probably thinks this is wrong but I have no sure source if that’s exactly what he thinks
